ENGLISH PRESENTATION
AMLIS is a non profit organization founded in 1969 by medium-sized French pharmaceutical companies. AMLIS current members are medium-sized pharmaceutical companies established in France – either companies or affiliates – with sales turnover up to € 200 millions.
These 96 companies:
- Make their medicines available to physicians and patients supplied by retail pharmacies or hospitals
- Their products represent up to 50% of prescriptions from specialists such as gastroenterologists, dermatologists, otorhinolaryngologists, pediatricians or pneumologists
- Distribute also medicines for day to day mild diseases treatment.
Spread over the French territory, these companies are job-creating industries contribute to public health economy and remain close to local elected officials. By the development of new technologies, they contribute to medical and therapeutic progress; some of them commercialize or develop biotech products or orphan drugs answering unmet medical needs. Additionally, they export intensively and have proven to be key stakeholders of the French pharmaceutical industry.
AMLIS main missions are to:
- Provide a strong support to enhance relationships and communication with the French healthcare authorities (e.g. HAS, AFSSAPS and Pricing Committee CEPS)
- Promote the incremental progress and obtain its recognition by the Drug Agency (AFSSAPS)
- Ensure an easy exchange of key information regarding regulatory, technical or economic issues between members
- et up meetings to enhance business partnerships or agreements, in France and also with comparable companies throughout Europe
- Strive to increase leadership of these companies and strengthen their network in a suitable way for their development while maintaining the highest standards of ethic and transparency
